Thank you for your interest in the Glenwood Gardens’ Legacy Reforestation Program of the Hamilton County Park District. The Legacy Groves are specifically designated areas for the planting of forest habitats using a diverse mixture of native tree species. By purchasing a tree through the Legacy Reforestation Program to be planted in one of 10 groves, you have the unique opportunity to help enhance the habitats of Glenwood Gardens and the Ohio River Valley central hardwood forest ecosystem. Your donation provides countless ecological benefits through enhanced biodiversity.
We are pleased to accept donations of any amount. A minimum donation of $300.00 is required to have a tree planted in honor of a loved one or friend. An additional $200.00 donation is needed to have the name of the individual being honored, listed on the plaque in the Legacy Garden. The plaque will list the person’s first name, middle initial and last name along with the tree type and grove location. Any contribution or donation to the Reforestation, Landscaping and Memorial Tree Program of the Hamilton County Park District is tax deductible under section 170 [c] of the Internal Revenue Code. To help ensure the health and success of the trees, we plant them only during spring and fall. Donations received March 2 through October 1 would provide for planting by December 20. Donations received from October 2 through March 1 would provide for a planting by May 20. Also included is a five-year warranty for the trees. For more information call (513) 521-7275.
You may download the Legacy Reforestation Program – Tree List to indicate your first and second choices from the trees listed. The Landscape Manager will determine the specific location for the tree. After the tree is planted, you will be notified of the tree type and grove location.
