Nature Education
The Hamilton County Park District Naturalist Department offers many
nature-related programs that cover a broad spectrum of topics, from
local wildlife to historical perspectives of Southwest Ohio’s pioneer settlers.
To find out more information please refer to Evergreen, the Park
District’s quarterly newsmagazine available at all Visitor Centers.
Teachers, scout leaders and other groups may schedule private programs
by calling (513) 521-PARK.
Community Out Reach Naturalist
The Community Out Reach Naturalist brings fun and exciting nature
programs directly into classrooms, senior centers and social service
agencies within the City of Cincinnati, free of charge.
Star Reach
Fifth grade students step inside an indoor, inflatable planetarium. A
specially designed projector casts images of the stars and constellations
onto the inside of the planetarium, surrounding the students with a
panoramic view of the night sky. The Park District provides free bus service when needed.
University of Outdoors
The University of Outdoors (UGO) is a new initiative by the Hamilton County Park District Naturalist Department to encourage health and fitness in the Great Outdoors. Throughout the year, UGO programs will be offered at various parks with an emphasis on exercise and diet. The programs are designed to fun and educational!
In Reach
In Reach invites each fourth grade class in Hamilton County to spend a
day at Parky’s Farm. Teachers can select from a variety of lesson plans
such as tracing the progress of a garden from the seed to harvest.
In Reach is offered free of charge. In addition, free bus transportation is
provided to those schools that may not otherwise be able to travel to a park.
In Reach programs are also provided to senior, youth and community
groups as well as social service agencies.
