Miami Whitewater Forest - Professionals Tips September 11, 2006 Tension and Tempo Problem: One of the most important areas of the golf swing is Tempo. More often than not, a loss of tempo can be traced back to the address. Pressing the sole of the club against the ground can cause tension to seep through you arms and up into the rest of the upper body. This
tension will lead to a very jerky takeaway making it nearly impossible to make any kind of fluid swing resulting
in not only a loss of distance but very poor directional control. Soultion: Try to address each shot with the clubhead held off the ground just slightly. This will help keep your arms relaxed and feeling loose. This should give you a much smoother tempo and result in better golf shots. |
